Client info :

CommonBond Communities is the Midwest's largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing with services.

Juxtaposition Arts is a 16-yr old youth-led social enterprise and non-profit arts center based in the Twin Cities. As a hub for sustained participation in community-focused creative expression, the center employs teen apprentices and professionals on art commissions and improvement and policy initiatives.

Role :

In the summer of 2013, I was asked by Juxtaposition's Artistic Director to lead a $50,000 public art commission for a pocket park, a bus shelter, and custom bike racks to be installed at the site of a new housing development in Minneapolis.

I managed the full spectrum of the design-build process [e.g. concept design, user research, materials and vendor review, fabrication bidding ] and coordinated with various contractors to ensure that deliverables adhered to the budget + schedule.
